House in Tuscany
This is my little house in Tuscany, built circa 1600-1700.
One hour from Florence and 700 meters above sea level, it is rustic,
primitive, and charming. The thick walls are made of stone and chestnut
dirt, and the terra cotta floors are supported by rough hewn timbers.
The first floor has a kitchen and fireplace, the second floor a tiny
study with a bathroom and a seperate mosaic shower, the third floor
a king sized bed (loft construction), fireplace and skylight. The furnishings,
antique and primitive, match the house in charm.
It is located in the mountains surrounding the town of Loro Ciuffenna
( population: 5000 ) in a "frazione" named Faeto ( population:
28 ). Loro Ciuffenna, which dates to the medieval era, is a bustling
center of shops, markets, restaurants, and ancient edifices, while Faeto
is a sleepy, traditional farming community in a pristine natural setting.
They are centrally located to Florence, Arezzo, Siena, and hundreds
of other hilltowns of great cultural and historic importance. ( See
link to map below )
The house is available for both short-term and long-term rental.
Customized private tours are also available, conducted by an experienced
Master of ( Enjoyment in Tuscan Culinary ) Fine Art. ( Daydream all
those hilltowns... each has its own trattoria, its own specialties,
its own variety of wine... )
